2010 School Board Elections
This year, there will be an election for two city-wide School Board seats and one seat in each of the new Districts--#1, #3 and #5--down the east side of the city. In 2012, Districts #2, #4, and #6, down the west side of the city will elect their School Board members, plus there will be one city-wide seat open.
NEW Primary Election Date, August 10, 2010
The legislature has changed the fall primary election to August 10, 2010
Filing dates for city candidates are May 18 through June 1. Candidate withdrawals must occur by 5 p.m. June 3.
The General Election is Nov. 2.

Ranked Choice Voting: On November 3, voters in Minneapolis were able to rank their choices for Mayor, City Council, Board of Estimate and Taxation, and Park and Recreation Board. This new voting method called Ranked Choice Voting allows voters to rank multiple up to three candidates for each office in order of the voter’s preference.
