Library

Any change in governance for the libraries should assure adequate support for quality library services and collections, and incorporate the following principles:

  • a sound, sustainable long-term financing structure;
  • a governance structure that provides both transparency and clear accountability;
  • proportional, equitable representation of Minneapolis and its diverse communities in the governance structure and resource distribution;
  • preservation and strengthening of the unique collections of the MPL Central Library as a resource for the entire state; and,
  • sound administrative procedures.
