Join Women Defending Democracy for a panel discussion with Nile Blass, Regional LWVUS Organizer & Young Voter Power Initiative Program Lead, and Averie Younge, Co-Executive Director of Vote16 MN and a senior at Shakopee High School. Together, they will explore what young people want and need from our democracy, why those concerns do not always lead to participation at the ballot box, and what we can do to make sure they know their voices matter and are heard.

The Minnesota Reformer and League of Women Voters of Minnesota, in partnership with the Leagues of Duluth, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Mankato, are bringing communities together for a series of conversations about Minnesota’s 2026 elections.

Join us in the studio at St. Paul Neighborhood Network on October 8th to learn how Minnesota’s elections are administered, why they remain safe and secure, and what each of us can do to help keep them that way. Hear from local election officials, journalists, and League leaders as they share insights, answer questions, and explore how informed, engaged citizens help strengthen trust in our elections.

Come early! Chat with League of Women Voters of St. Paul & Minneapolis members, or  grab food or a beverage from OG ZaZA or Lake Monster before the program begins.

Whether you’re a longtime voter or simply curious about how our election system works, you’ll leave better informed about Minnesota elections and how you can help protect free and fair elections.

  • Candidate Forums, Civic Buzz and Woment Defending Democracy are free and open to all.

  • Public events on Zoom such as Civic Buzz and Women Defending Democracy require advance registration. Details are included on the calendar. And you can contact vote@lwvmpls.org or office@lwvmpls.org if help needed.

  • The League hosts candidate forums, speaker and discussion series like Civic Buzz, speaker and action and advocacy series like Woment Defending Democracy. All with an emphasis on educating and engaging voters and public policy.

  • Events are added on a rolling basis throughout the year.
